Travis thank you for being on the podcast, it's a pleasure to have you on this episode. Can you please share with us a meaningful experience from your own camping career?


Thank you for having me on The Sherry Group Podcast. Camping has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was a child I didn't really feel like I fit in anywhere, but camp was a safe and welcoming place for me.


When I was 13 my counselor took me aside and told me something that has stuck with me since that day. He told me that one day I'd be a great camp counselor.


Because of that small and seemingly insignificant moment, I have chosen to make camping my career and huge a part of my life. I met my wife at camp, we raised our kids at camp and now we even have a business that consults with camps all over the world.


My camp counselor didn't know it at the time, but he inspired me to go on and have a life of service that has in return inspired countless others to enjoy a life of summer camp. Just because he believed in me and showed me some kindness in that moment, I have gone on to work with thousands of children and camp staff. He really made a lasting impact in my life.
