CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS

The Sherry Group ambitiously provides direction while simultaneously instilling courage within your team to successfully execute your small to medium-sized capital campaign. The development of capital campaign strategy comes with challenges for non-profit organizations, but we design plans and target dates to keep your goals on track with things like case statement development, identifying and screening potential donors, prospect research, wealth screenings, donor stewardship and more. Operations + Planning

When multi-faceted non-profits are stretched thin, inattentiveness can occur in certain areas or operations, in the midst of day-to-day tasks. It's important to routinely take a comprehensive look at your operations as a whole. We evaluate internal programming with consulting and coaching in the areas of strategic planning, staff recruitment and training, staff and operational efficiencies, facility management and more. Together, we review budgets, study risk management, and conduct stakeholder interviews. Externally, we provide resources for community engagement, public relations, marketing and more.

Camp Advancement

Between overnight camp, day camp, group camping, retreats and conferences, there's a lot to manage. No matter what programs you are running, we are in the business of thinking creatively to make your camp the very best it can be. It's our specialty and personal passion. We ensure best practices, industry trends, operational efficiency, budget and risk management alongside leadership guidance and implementation of staff recruitment and training. Transitional Leadership

FRACTIONAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


Is your organization on the edge of needing to hire its first Executive Director? The Sherry Group can provide your organization the support and infrastructure needed to prepare for your next phase. A Fractional Executive Director provides volunteers an opportunity to begin the process of handing off operational work and start the transition to becoming a governing board. Together we will build your operational guide, policies, and processes so that when you are ready to hire your first full-time Executive Director, there is a comprehensive on-boarding process and your Executive Director will be set up for success.


INTERIM TRANSITIONAL LEADER

The exit of an organization’s Executive Director (whether it is planned or not) can be a difficult transition for board, staff, and those you serve. Choosing to hire an Interim Transitional Leader allows the board space to discern the qualities and characteristics needed in the next Executive Director. These are often quite different than those currently listed in the job description. After all, you are hiring a director for the next leg of the journey, something that is often very different than the previous years that got you where you are. At the Sherry Group, we can assist you through identifying your candidates, manage your interview process, and provide a comprehensive transition after the hire ensuring success for your new Executive Director. 

Board Growth

A lack of understanding of what is — and is not — a part of a board’s essential roles can lead to a host of dysfunctions, such as micromanagement, rogue decision-making, lack of engagement, and more.*  The Sherry Group helps your organization develop Board Guidelines and then train and coach both board and staff to function within their roles.  Additionally, we provide a complete assessment of board operations from recruitment to retention. In the end, you will understand both the make-up and needs of your board’s membership, have a proven process for recruitment of new membership, and your way of training and supporting them through governance, fundraising, and strategic leadership. We will also provide training for the staff – staff often have little or no understanding of the role of a nonprofit board – they often see boards as an adversary rather than an advocate.
